01 April 2012 - Sri Chinmoy 24km, 14km and Children's 2.5km Beach Challenge - Results

An overcast start to the day at Waimairi Beach turned to blazing sunshine as the first finishers crossed the line, having covered a variety of beach, dune, forest and trail terrain. The 24km event was won in a sprint finish by Greg Monk (1.41.31), closely followed by Guy Dryden (1.41.55).  In the women's 24km Carrie Lee led the field for a first place finish in 1.49.02.
 
Marc Lidiard (46.40) and Christine Rowe (59.44) achieved first places in the 14km event, while Ayrton Shadbolt aged 11 (9.11) and Erin Downie aged 10 (9.55) were victorious in the Children's 2.5km event.
