Runners brave weather in Dunedin 2 Mile Self-Transcendence Race.

July is mid winter down-under and it is very easy to be tempted to stay indoors rather than face the elements at 7:30 each raceday morning.

Not so our brave brothers and sisters in Dunedin, New Zealand. Dunedin is a coastal city overlooking the Southern ocean - about the same latitude as Halifax, Nova Scotia in Canada. Dunedin has a maritine climate and at this time of the year cold fronts from Antarctica are frequent (and not always welcome) visitors.

Last Saturday the runners had icy gale force head winds during the 2 mile race.

10  hardy runners  completed the event.
