A calm, cool blue-sky-day greeted the runners and walkers for race 3 of the Sri Chinmoy Auckland Series 2021, held at a stunningly picturesque Auckland Domain on Sunday 02 May 2021.
In the Sri Chinmoy Half-Marathon, Fabe Downs (1.11.47) and his friend Rodwyn Isaacs (1.12.49) literaly flew around the gently, undulating 2.5 km Auckland Domain course, lapping all the other competitors, with Fabe easing away in the latter stages of the race - both runners dipping under Ciaran Faherty's (1.13.05) outstanding 2017 course record. Congratulations Fabe & Rodwyn !!!
Carl Byrne (1.30.48) came home in third place after a good battle with Jason Gerritz (1.31.25).
In the women's half Lisa Harris (1.41.32) finished comfortably ahead of runners'-up Diana Prado (1.57.37) and Anne-Marie Mujica (1.57.40).
In the Sri Chinmoy 10 km Race, Vince Sesto (41.19) won the men's race from Elijah Ivimey (41.48) and Shaun Cooper (43.54).
Kirsty Pinder (51.07) won the women's 10 km, ahead of Kim Dirks (55.37) and Liz Hardley (58.08).
Aron Thompson (20.41) had a fine victory in the Sri Chinmoy 5k Race ... from Yusuke Chow (21.43) and Tony Sutherland (25.30).
Maureen Sutherland (24.34) once again won the women's 5k race, followed by Lucia Katongo (28.19) and Anya Katongo ((28.39).
In the Sri Chinmoy 2.5k Children's Race Kousei Chow (12.02) won the boy's 2.5k ... from Takumi Ozeki (13.37) and Derek Dong (14.04).
Jazz Sutherland (12.14) was the girl's 2.5k winner ... followed by Angela Baird (12.57) and Anna Dong (15.33).
