Russell Lake 43 & Shannon-Leigh Litt 100k Champs

Russell Lake 43, (Tauranga 8.08.52) and Shannon-Leigh Litt 34, (Christchurch 9.04.46) won the Sri Chinmoy 100k Road Races (N.Z/ IAU 100k National Championships) held in Hagley Park North, Christchurch on Sunday. Conditions were fine and mild for the 7.00am start but deteriorated later as a cold front moved in.

Russell, running his first 100k race, hung on well to finish comfortably ahead of David Ryan 27, (Wellington 8.59.37) and Michael Rodliffe 33, (Christchurch 9.19.50). 

Shannon-Leigh, runner-up to Val Muskett last year, had an absorbing dual with with Katrin Gottschalk 34, (Auckland 9.09.04). Both women ran stong, consistant races and achieved times well under Val's 2012 race record (10.05.18).

Guy Dryden 49, (Christchurch 7.01.33) won the Sri Chinmoy 50 Mile race, while Devern Burchett 45 (3.37.30) and Shirley Rolston 64, (6.26.11) were victors in the Sri Chinmoy 50k events.

The Sri Chinmoy 100k Teams Race was won by the 'Matt Grey Candy Tesst' team (7.57.50) ... followed by the  'Burnside High Motor Neurons' team (8.22.38) and the 'Burnside High Westpac Helicopter' team (8.43.35).
