7 Nov.04: Billinda Schipp wins Christchurch 10km
Billinda Schipp from Australia arrived in Christchurch on the evening of November 6th and won the 10km race the following morning.
On a picture perfect Sunday morning, Billinda was out for a casual jog in Hagley Park in the sunny South Island of New Zealand when she spotted the race set-up crew and asked to join. After winning in a time of 37.42 she quietly admitted that she had recently won the Melbourne Marathon - as a complete unknown with only a year's running behind her!
