  • 22 Sept 2013 - Sri Chinmoy Half Marathon, 10km and Children's 2.5km Races - Results

    By Anonymous
    24 September

The strong and the brave turned out to the races at Hagley Park on Sunday in cold and rainy conditions.

Despite the wetness the Half Marathon was a fast race with Enda Lynam placing first in the men's event in 1.23.29 and Kieron Batt coming second in 1.23.47. In the women's race Carrie Lee came through strongly to finish in 1.32.13 and was followed by Charlotte Dugdale in 1.34.32.

The 10km men's race was won by Guy Dryden in 39.16 and Kirsty McDonald took out the women's event in 44.51.

As usual the Children's 2.5km proved that we have some very speedy youngsters in Christchurch, with Erin Downie (11) well ahead of the field to place first overall in 9.31. 2nd placed girl was Bailey Peterson (12) in 10.54 and Nina Ericson (9) came third in 12.52. In the boy's race Sam Clark (9) placed first with a great time of 10.18 and was followed through by his brother Aaron Clark (7) 11.08 and third place went to Tyler McWilliam in 11.57.

Due to our race photographer being overseas there are unfortunately no race photos for this event. Our apologies!
