We were once again fortunate to have a beautiful day out at Curletts Reserve. This year was our biggest turnout ever, and our biggest children's field for any race. There was plenty of mud and water to contend with, but enjoying the post race apple crumble breakfast in stunning sunshine made it all worthwhile.

12 year old Jake Marryatt led the whole field for the first lap to claim first place in the Children's 2.5km race in a great time of 9min 30sec. Cameron Champion and Oliver Thompson finished together to take second and third. First in the girls race this year was 9 year old Tayla Clarke in a time of 12min 47sec. Jessica Brown was not far behind, and Sophie Horn took third place.

Russell Wordsworth took first place in the men's Cross Country after a good effort in the Christchurch Marathon 2 weeks ago. His time was 31min 36sec. Second was Mark Ingram in 34min 11sec. George Hooper, father of champion athlete Rowan Hooper, finished third in 35min 8sec.

A regular at our races, Tessa Holland, was first in the women's Cross Country in a time of 39min 1sec. Jill Buchan and Vicki Moore were close behind.
